Nathan Jongejan – Chairman
Hi everyone! My name is Nathan; I’m 20 years old, in my second year in Computer Science, and just started my second year of dancing! You might have seen me around at the Tuesday lessons, the social dances, or some of the other activities throughout the year. Next to dancing, I also try to go climbing at least once per week, and I’m relatively active at my study association.
I started dancing after trying out a salsa course last year. I enjoyed it, but I took Ballroom instead because I didn’t have time to go to the Monday lessons. Over the past year, I’ve slowly fallen more and more in love with the sport. My favourite dance changes weekly, but as of writing this, it’s the Cha-Cha.
I ended up wanting to do something for 4 happy feet, so I became interested in doing a board year next year! So for the upcoming year, I want to take on the challenge of becoming the board’s chairman!
P.S. My favourite type of chocolate is really dark chocolate 😁
Daan de Waard – Secretary
Dear all, I am Daan, a 25 year old student of the master programme ‘Sustainable Energy Technology’. Past January I graduated from the bachelor Environmental science at the university of applied science in Breda. As my study direction indicates I value sustainability and with the gained expertise of my study, I hope to make a positive contribution to the society in my future career.
Since I moved to Enschede in February to kick-off the master, I joined 4 happy feet. As I am completely new to ballroom and Latin, I joined the Ballroom & Latin D classes. On occasion I participate in the salsa 1 classes to replace a lead that oftentimes cannot make it.
Besides my study & and dancing classes at happy feet I practice the piano of which I actually often want to spent more time on than I actually do as result of the study load. Some other interests of mine are reading non-fiction books and in particular books that are about or a mix of philosophical, sociological, historical and political themes. Furthermore, I am a person that likes to do sports activities. I’d like to explore the mountains, in summer for some hikes and in the winter to take some slopes. Recently, I also participated in an obstacle run.
I am looking forward to becoming the new secretary of the board to keep the administration of the association in order and update the members about all the upcoming activities.
Cheers!

Leanne van der Leij- Treasurer
Hi everyone, I am Leanne and I am currently a second years* studying Mechanical Engineering. Next do studying I play the violin/viola in MSO and InSpe. And whenever I have time left I like to have a drink with my fellow friends. Upcoming year I will pause my study for a year to become the chairman of Apollo as a full-time board member. However, I have always some time left to become even more active in my other associations.
If you don’t know me, I dance Ballroom C, B and Salsa 1 this year. I started dancing last year with the thought of dancing one hour of Ballroom D a week, and definitely not becoming active in 4 happy feet. Well here we are, a year later, after telling myself not to do another board year, being the treasurer of the board. I just could not resist myself from doing one more board year at an association and getting to know even more people.
Now you would wonder after a year of dancing, is there a favourite dance? Well, for me that changes from time to time. At the moment of writing I am really feeling the Tango vibe. And a favourite chocolate? For this I can pick one, that would be the crunchy white chocolate.
I am really excited to become a board member of 4 happy feet with my fellow board members, and I am sure we are going to make the best out of it!
Quinten Boeve – Commissioner of internal affairs
Hello, I’m Quinten, I’m 21 and studying ATLAS. Which is a study that is hard to explain but I usually just say I study a bit of everything. I grew up in Driebergen, a cozy village close to Utrecht. And in the first half of this year I went on exchange to Australia, which was a great opportunity and experience. Some of the things I enjoy most in life (besides from dancing of course) are board games and cereal :p. I like sports and have been doing different sports the last few years. Currently I just started playing quadball, which is the sport based on Harry Potter’s quidditch. My favorite dance has got to be the jive, because I just love the energy!
I’m going for the position of internal affairs because I am looking forward to getting to know and guiding new people who want to be involved with the association. I enjoy organizing and keeping an overview, and am excited about contributing to the events that will be organized the coming year. I know there’ll be a lot to learn, but I see that as an opportunity :).
Cheers!
